NHD in Maine encourages students, grades 6-12, to do independent historical research and present their findings in the form of exhibits, papers, documentaries, websites, and performances at regional, state, and national competitions. Every year Senator Collins takes time to meet the national competitors on the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building.
