About Me!
Hello, my name is Lucy Hodgman-Burns and I'm working to get my bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Relations with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I have been around teachers my entire life. It may sound cliche but teaching runs in my blood. Both of my parents are in education; my dad is a high school history teacher and varsity coach and my mom is a school administrator and Director of School Counseling. If that weren’t enough, I spent most of my childhood as a faculty brat at Fryeburg Academy. All those factors set the stage for me to seek this as a profession. While I grew up in and around school, being a student wasn’t always easy. I was a reluctant learner when I was young–I had a turning point when I enrolled in our alternative program in middle school. I formed strong bonds with the teachers and they hooked me. I understand now that relationships are very important and I seek to be that hook with other young children.
