Collaboration
The next step in the process will be somewhat more straightforward. Now we know what our objective is and we have developed a plan on how to there. Now we are going to dig into the information and the research that we need to get to that objective. The research itself I like to think of as a collaborative effort. I am exploring a conversation that a writer and researcher before me has begun. He or she has developed some information on a subject that I am in turn about to delve into and therefore this original researcher and myself are about to collaborate to work toward the objective that we discovered in step one.
This collaboration or conversation that we are going to have will consist of the facts and the basis for the theory or thesis as it were that we are working to put forward. We are going to converse with this source that we have located and take in the information that he or she has to give us. Once we have begun this we will most likely be deluged with facts and figures and theories that may or may not fit into the knowledge that we currently possess ourselves. That’s where the collaboration really comes into effect, we as a result of this conversation merge the new knowledge with that which we already possessed and this becomes the basis for our theory.
