As a tutor at the University of Maine, I have generated specific many different ideologies about writing. We hope to create an inclusive space where all students feel comfortable in sharing their work with others for constructive feedback. I believe that every student is unique and each tutorial is a special experience of engaging in an intellectual conversation about different subjects, whether it be through a lab paper or a creative writing piece.
I hope to help bring confidence to students through their writing, and to break that barrier and create a safe space where the student feels comfortable sharing their thoughts. Here, at the writing center, we all hope to supply students with the necessary resources to make them successful students in the academic atmosphere.
