Manager, Academic Logistics & Testing

With a 30-year history in the University of Maine System, Helene is a seasoned professional who has developed meaningful connections with faculty, students, and staff.  Helene's positive attitude and departmental knowledge uplifts and motivates those around her. She prides herself in maintaining a cohesive and thriving team environment. As Academic Logistics redefines its mission to keep up with these changing times, Helene places a strong emphasis on inclusion, ensuring that every team member's input is heard, valued and recognized.

Diane Shorey
Administrative Specialist CL2

Diane is dedicated to fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere for all students, faculty, staff, and community members who engage with Academic Logistics. With over 20 years at UMA with this department in Distance Education, Diane has been instrumental in distributing testing and classroom materials to UMA's diverse range of students. In addition, Diane plays a crucial role in scheduling Hyflex classes, further enhancing the academic experience at UMA. Her contributions extend to proctoring placement exams providing essential support to Hyflex classrooms and Tech Hub, ensuring that all students receive the highest level of assistance and guidance.

As a Learning & Logistics Support Specialist, Jennifer is dedicated to helping students and faculty thrive. Empowering learning journeys through proctoring exams, Tech Hub wizardry, supporting media service technicians in the hyflex classrooms and maintaining brand integrity.

Learning & Logistics Support Specialist

As a Learning & Logistics Support Specialist in the Student Tech Hub, Liz uses her experiences as a UMA student to help guide those who may need a little help along the way. With a background in customer service, Liz understands the importance for patience and positivity when providing students with the resources they need to succeed. When Liz is not staffing the Tech Hub, she spends her time assisting in other departments such as Academic Logistics and the Media Support Services. During her down time, she enjoys learning ways to enhance her skills in creative design and enjoying the great outdoors.

Kelly Parker
Learning & Logistics Support Specialist

A troubleshooting maestro by day and a globe-trotter by heart, Kelly navigates the digital realm and the globe with equal enthusiasm. When she's not helping you navigate the digital world, she's exploring it herself—having conquered the 48 contiguous states, France, and China, she's on a mission to add more pins to her world map. Known for her knack for troubleshooting and her dedication to providing top-notch technical support, she's your go-to person for all things tech. You'll often find her in the Tech Hub, proctoring exams, assisting with Hyflex classrooms, and extending her language skills to enhance academic experience. Kelly's unique blend of wanderlust, tech expertise, and linguistic talents adds an exciting dimension to the academic landscape. 

Dana Wands
Learning & Logistics Support Specialist

As an alumna of the University of Maine at Augusta, Dana brings a valuable student perspective to the department, enriching collaborations on projects and fostering productive interactions with staff, faculty, and students of UMA. With a dedicated passion for research and education, coupled with extensive experience in customer service and higher education, she consistently delivers a high level of professionalism and care in her interactions and collaborations.
