Rock Hill, South Carolina is not only the home of Winthrop University, it has twice been awarded the status of "All American City" by the National Civic League.
Nestled on the boarder of North Carolina and South Carolina, between the Queen City of Charlotte (NC) and the capitol city Columbia (SC), Rock Hill features amazing arts programming ,which includes several festivals throughout the year. Hosting national and international sporting events also brings a tremendous amount of energy to the city. There is a variety of restaurants with different types of cuisine to choose from in the downtown area and beyond. A free local transit system, My Ride, makes it easier for guest and residents to see the city and explore.
A number of museums, preserving the local history and culture, add to the hometown experience, however, Rock Hill's geographic location allows only a few hours drive to the mountains or the coast.
