Professor Tim Marek has served at SNU since 2000. As an adjunct professor, he enjoys teaching piano and introducing students to the various facets of playing the pipe organ. As staff accompanist, he collaborates with vocalists and instrumentalists, and serves as pianist for the SNU Chorale, musicals, and other events. He is Assistant Organist at All Souls’ Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City, where he plays organ at services, accompanies the choir, and directs the handbell choir.
A graduate of SNU (’91), Tim earned his Bachelor of Arts in Organ Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He continued his studies at the University of Oklahoma, where he completed his Master of Music in Organ Performance.
Tim has been active in the OKC music community for many years. A long-time member of the American Guild of Organists, he has served in several capacities including Convention Coordinator for the 2011 Southwest Regional Convention. He has also had the privilege of being accompanist for the Canterbury Choral Society, Windsong Chamber Choir, Master Chorale, American Choral Directors Association National Honor Choir, and other organizations in the Oklahoma City area.
Besides work at SNU and church, Tim is self-employed as a computer programmer (MS Access) and bookkeeper. At home, he enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time with his cats, Linus and Schroeder.
