Leslie Seiters has been making, directing, and performing dances since 1994. She studied visual art at Kenyon College, received an MFA in Dance from The Ohio State University, and is a certified Feldenkrais practitioner. She directs Leslie Seiters/little known dance theater, co-directs duet work with long-time collaborator Rachael Lincoln and co-founded a weekly practice group, Live, in 2007. Leslie has primarily lived/worked on the west coast and has performed with Sara Shelton Mann/Contraband, Jo Kreiter/Flyaway Productions, Dandelion DanceTheater, Bebe Miller, Scott Wells, Knee Jerk Project, Body Cartographers, and Jess Curtis/Gravity Physical Entertainment. She has received San Francisco’s “izzie” awards in both choreography and visual design, Seattle’s Crush Award and has received grants from the Zellerbach Family Fund, CASH Grants, as well as residencies at ODC Theater, CounterPULSE Theater, and the Djerassi Foundation. In her 12th year teaching at SDSU, Leslie continues to rethink, reconsider, and reinvent what she is doing as a dance artist and dance educator.
