The Oil City Area School District recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are related to students' physical well-being, growth, development and readiness to learn. We are committed to providing a school environment that promotes student wellness, proper nutrition, nutrition education and promotion, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning experience. In a healthy school environment, students will learn about and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices that can improve student achievement


OSCAD Employee Wellness Program Vision:

  • The Oil City Area School District Employee Wellness Program will provide a balanced and proactive wellness program to employees that will improve their individual health and health behavior patterns and produce tangible improvements in their use of health care services, reduce health-related costs, and enhance their personal well being.

OCASD Employee Wellness Program Mission:

  • To improve the health of Oil City Area School District employees through promoting optimal employee health.

FFVP

Oil City Areas School District Elementary Schools are participating in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program which promotes increasing children's fruit and vegetable consumption.

  • Students in grades K-4 are served a fruit or vegetable at least three times per week for the duration of the school year.

  • The fruits/vegetables are served in the classroom, and students learn information about the healthy snack.

  • Students are introduced to new and interesting fruits and vegatables through the program.
