There are some state requirements that are due at certain grade levels. The state requires that a physical and dental be completed at the Kindergarten level. They also require that a dental be complete at the third grade level. These can be completed two ways. Either by your private doctor or by signing up for the school physician/dentist. The school does have a state of the art dental center at the high school that is available to all students k-12. More information about the dental center can be found by visiting this link. Another state requirement is the new immunization requirements. Students must have at least one dose of all required immunizations, unless that child has a medical or religious/philosophical exemption. If the student does not have all the required immunizations they must have a plan in place certified by the doctor of when the required immunizations will be given. The Oil City Area School District (OCASD) has a no nit lice policy. If a student is found to have lice or nits they are to be sent home for treatment of the nits and/or lice. They must remain out of school until they are deemed nit free by the school nurse or other trained personnel. Students are not permitted to ride the bus or return to class until checked by the school nurse.
