The ASTA Chapter is presenting this summer fundraiser to raise money to support Strings for Success, a music program that is free to students in the Rochester City School District. This program gives learning opportunities to students who may not have access to music lessons otherwise. This fundraiser will assist in supporting students, buying instruments, strings, etc.
$1500 will support more than five students for a year
$600 will buy two violins
$250 will provide ten replacement bows
$100 will restring four violins
Who is Eligible to participate?
It is open to any music student at Nazareth College. This includes those who are not a string primary. Family, friends and the community are welcome to donate as well.
How does it work?
Each individual who participates will attempt to raise as much money as they possibly can by reaching out to friends and family through phone calls, text messages. Social media, etc. The music student who raises the most amount of money will receive a prize provided by the ASTA board.
What are we fundraising for?
60% of all funds raised will go to a low income Rochester School music program for scholarships, instruments, sheet music, etc.
40% will go to the ASTA funds to provide for educational workshops, conferences and the ability to acquire any needs for the school programs that ASTA assists with.
How long will it last?
It will last all summer until we return for Semester Fall 2020. End date will be the week of our meet and greet in September.
Effective ways to fund-raise this money?
Post statuses on Facebook and social media platforms. Do Fundraising concerts on social media!
Call family, friends, acquaintances, teachers, etc. Save your pennies! Can return!
How much money am I trying to raise Individually?
Hopefully at least a hundred dollars per participant. Our goal overall would be $2000.00.
