This page contains information regarding the format of both oral talks and posters.
Each workshop slot is 30 minutes long (workshop organisers may give their invited speaker two slots)
You should aim for a talk lasting 20 to 25 minutes, so as to allow for 5 to 10 minutes of discussion
Please prepare your slides in either PDF or PPTX format, otherwise we cannot guarantee that your presentation will run without issues on our computers.
For handout presentations, we unfortunately cannot offer any printing services.
Slides will be presented using local classroom computers only
Please inform us if you would like to request an exception and present from your own laptop (for example if you are planning on presenting a larger amount of auditory or visual material)
The required poster format is A1 in portrait orientation
Presenters will be given a poster board together with thumb tacks to secure the poster
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide poster printing services. However, there are several print shops near the Faculty, which you can use.
The PhD and BA/MA student competitions will take place separately, with the corresponding poster sessions scheduled on different days (see Programme).
Each student will present their work to members of the audience, as is standard for poster presentations.
Each member of the audience will receive three tokens, which they can use to vote for their favourite posters. Voters may give all three tokens to a single poster or distribute them among several posters. Voting will take place only during the relevant poster session.
The student author of the poster receiving the highest number of tokens in the relevant competition will receive the Best Student Poster Award. In the event of a tie, the final decision will be made by the organizers.
The winner of the BA/MA student competition will receive a monetary prize.
The winner of the PhD student competition will receive a monetary prize and will be invited to give a keynote talk as a junior invited speaker at the next edition of the Biennial of Czech Linguistics.
