Across the LCC campus, there are many places that can provide guidance about the assessment process.
Assessment Coordinators are non-voting members of Committee for Assessing Student Learning (CASL) that offer assessment expertise and recommendations for designing and using student learning assessment plans in courses and across curricula.
Faculty and staff can join the assessment coordinator program any semester and are encouraged to dedicate a minimum of 4 semesters to complete and implement assessment plans. To learn more about the Assessment Coordinator program, please (webpage link OR contact Karen Hicks, Director of Assessment).
For the current list of coordinators in each area, visit the CASL website.

The purpose of program review is to guide the development of academic programs on a continuous basis. It is a process through which faculty evaluate the status, effectiveness, and progress of academic programs. Program Review helps faculty identify the future direction, needs, and priorities of their programs. The process is closely connected to strategic planning, resource allocation, and other decision-making processes at the course, program, and institutional levels. However, the real value of program review comes when faculty engage in genuine self-study to understand the underlying aspects of the program’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The primary deliverable of a program review should be an action plan for further development of your academic program. The work that you do as part of the program review process will inform your program’s annual improvement plans, which should then inform your program operating plans.
Find out when your program of study is up for program review by visiting this program review calendar. Access Program Review guidance by reviewing this program review guidebook or by contacting Academic Affairs about the program review process or the Center for Data Science for data inquiries related to program review.
