Make-Up Tests: After an excused absence, scholars will have up to five school days from the date of their return to complete the make-up test. It is the scholar’s responsibility to promptly communicate with me to schedule the make-up test. There will be no grading penalty applied.
Cell Phone Information
Students are permitted to bring cell phones to school. Cell phones may only be used before 7:45 a.m. and after the bell rings at the end of the day. NO EXCEPTIONS. Cell phones may not be seen, heard, used, or cause a disruption during the school day without the teacher's permission. ALL STUDENT CELL PHONES MUST BE OFF DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. Teachers or administrators will take a student’s phone if it is out, in use, or makes a sound during the school day.
Teachers may also establish rules for cell phones in their classrooms. Cell phones MUST be placed in the designated area when entering the classroom.
Earbud Information
Students are NOT permitted to have earbuds and listening devices visible. This includes while in hallways, restrooms, and cafeteria during breakfast and lunch.
Lunch Information
According to federal and state child nutrition meal guidelines, scholars are permitted to bring anything in their breakfast or lunch for themselves. No student is permitted to bring food for another student. South Charleston Middle School will not permit fast food to be delivered or brought to the school for scholars during the day. This helps us ensure that we are providing a safe and secure learning environment. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Bus Transportation
Parents and students using bus transportation need to contact the bus garage to confirm the bus numbers and pick-up and drop-off times for the school year. Parents may phone (304)-766-0373 if they have questions or concerns. Students must know their bus number for the trip home. Bus information can also be obtained through the KCS website and by clicking the bus transportation link.
