Each year, students participate in community service projects each month that benefit the school or community while simultaneously working to improve the other three pillars that NHS embraces: leadership, character, and scholarship.
This years induction will take place on April 25th at 6:00pm in the GWHS auditorium. A record number of 86 students will join our chapter for next year.
The School-Based Program is mentoring that takes place at an assigned Little Sib's school. The time involved is one hour per week during the school day. Time spent at the school can include assisting with academics, shooting hoops, doing crafts, reading or eating lunch together, and playing games. Sign ups for the following year occur at the beginning of the summer.
Our annual trash-a-thon occurs at the end of April, where students spend time in our local community picking up trash.
Every year, students gather items in the spring to create meaningful care packages for teachers at GWHS to show them how much they truly are appreciated.
NHS students took a trip to the Dominican Republic to spend time with children at the Dream Project.
NHS students take 3 days before first semester finals to offer tutoring sessions to underclassman and provide cocoa to sweeten the deal.
Each fall, GWHS holds a Trunk-or-Treat for the community. Check back for more information regarding Fall 2024.
Students made no-sew blankets for Project Linus which provides handmade blankets to children 0-18 in the United States who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.
