書法是中華文化的瑰寶，蘊含深厚的文學、美學藝術價值。
學習書法除了讓學生識字，培養學生欣賞中華文字與文學之美，更可以涵養學生「定靜安慮得」的功夫，奠定學生良好的品德根基。所以書法教育是國語文教育、美感教育，也是品德教育。
新北市政府有鑑於書法育人的重要，於102年度成立書法教學推動小組，並於105年度成立書法教育資源中心，規劃推動全市國小書法教育。
期盼透過書法教學之推廣，專業師資之培訓、書法教育軟硬體設施之充實及推廣活動之辦理，來厚實書法教育之根基，讓書法教育在新北市能夠深耕茁壯、蓬勃發展，嘉惠全市的萃萃學子，以達書法育人之目標。

Calligraphy is a precious gem of Chinese culture, embodying profound literary, aesthetic, and artistic values.
In addition to helping students acquire literacy and fostering their appreciation for the beauty of Chinese characters and literature, learning calligraphy cultivates the state of "composure, tranquility, peacefulness, deliberation, and attainment," laying a solid foundation for good moral character. Therefore, calligraphy education is at once Chinese language education, aesthetic education, and character education.
Recognizing the key role of calligraphy in nurturing individuals, the New Taipei City Government established the Calligraphy Education Promotion Team in 2013 and the Calligraphy Education Resource Center in 2016 to plan and promote calligraphy education in elementary schools citywide.
Through promoting calligraphy instruction, training professional teachers, enhancing facilities and resources, and organizing events, we aim to strengthen the foundation of calligraphy education. It is our hope that calligraphy education will take deep root and flourish in New Taipei City, benefiting students across the city and achieving the goal of nurturing mind and character through calligraphy.
