We study the biogeochemical processes and interactions between nutrients, contaminants, organic matter, and minerals in the environment, while paying special attention to organic matter functionality, redox dynamics, and element cycling.

We investigate the thermodynamics and kinetics of biogeochemical reactions by monitoring reaction dynamics and characterizing the structure and composition of the reactants/products at the micro-to-nanoscale.
