Michael wants to understand how natural systems (broadly defined) work, and for him, 'to understand' means to have a theory at hand. A natural course of action therefore was a BSc in Biology, and an MSc and PhD in Ecolgy, Evolution and Behavior, all from the Hebrew University (mentored by Ronen Kadmon and Nadav Shnerb). Michael then moved for a postdoctoral position at the Universisty of Michigan and University of Texas at Austin, with prof. Annette Ostling.
Now back in Jerusalem, Michael enjoys hiking and sports, history and spending time with his family.
In his master’s thesis, Yuval aims to understand how the interaction between disturbances and initial conditions affects diversity patterns, dynamics, and stable coexistence in experimental plant communities.
Yuval loves being outdoors – hiking, foraging, and identifying birds, plants, and insects. Yuval also enjoy baking, reading, playing the bass, and watching basketball.
