I'm associate professor of political sociology with special research interest in social movements/contentious politics and conflict resolution. After completing my undergraduate and graduate degrees in political science, I went across the Atlantic and completed my Ph.D. in the Sociology department, Boston College (2004). Ever since, I have been researching a variety of related topics such as cultural dynamics of protest politics, processes of radicalization, de-radicalization, and contained radicalization, political violence and terrorism, and media discourse and peacebuilding - as they apply to single cases and across cases.
