While student apprenticing, I was tasked with identifying a student with challenging behaviors and conducting a case study on them. The following items were addressed in the case study: demographic information, classroom layout, observations of behavior, and evidence-based improvement strategies. At the end of the day, the goal of the assignment was to document these behaviors and brainstorm methods for tackling them. The student in question, through this protocol, was able to focus more and finish his work more often. I am thankful for this experience and will certainly bring this experimental mindset to other challenging students in the future. Please see the left for a slideshow detailing every facet of the case study.
