This semester we are heading towards the final landing! Throughout this semester we will pull it all together, learning about transitions in healthcare while also reviewing content from past semesters. You are just one semester away from being a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner! You've almost made it to the finish line, don't stop now, it's all downhill from here!
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
Integrate theories and evidence-based practices in designing advanced nursing strategies for the target population.
Identify elements of effective negotiation and appropriate consultation skills in assessment of the primary care needs of children/adolescents.
Discuss concepts guiding selection of actions or roles of the advanced practice nurse (APN) in management of health pattern alterations of children/adolescents.
Refine strategies for documentation and measurement of the APN effectiveness in teaching coaching, consultation, advocacy, and system influence in providing primary health care to children and adolescents
Discuss selection and utilization of technology supportive of the adaptation of children/adolescents to alterations in their health patterns, considering economic and geographic factors affecting efficiency of the technology for individual clients, their families, and the health care system.

Assignments for NUR 766
We will continue to utilize module notes for your wrap up assignments this semester. Remember, module notes should not be your first version of notes, but should be a synthesis of the pieces you believe are important and might be tested on. Work to connect the dots this semester, dig deeper!
This semester we will return to open notes quizzes online. To help you prepare for your boards, we want you to take your time in quizzes learning the content and developing your knowledge. You can still use your notes here, but also your textbook. Quizzes will include content from your weekly modules as well as review content from previous semesters based on our DRT testing.
Your midterm and final will serve as our summative assessment. Your midterm will be cumulative, open notes only and taken in seat during our mid-semester class. Your final exam will be delivered online during finals week, this is your last hoorah. Final exam will be closed book and closed notes and will include questions from throughout your last 4 semesters. Study hard, you can do this!
This semester your final presentation will be an interesting case from your clinicals. In our first semester, you presented a very high level overview of a patient case. Now, we ask you to dive a little deeper. Become the expert. Pretend you are giving a presentation at a national conference on a novel case, and teaching hundreds of colleagues about the evidence based management of that disease process. Hop into your course site for more details!
