Over the past few decades, the digital revolution has fundamentally transformed the way we communicate and experience the world. In an ever-technology-dependent society, students must leave school not only technologically literate, but able to apply that literacy to understand and interact with diverse human activity across cultural and national boundaries. A desire to teach effectively in these times demands a thorough investigation into the technological resources available, how they are integrated into learning, and how these interact with the complex human beings that our students are.
At my student-teaching placement at City High, I became proficient with Schoology as an interface for organizing the gradebook, and for students to turn in assignments and receive feedback. Schoology was also our interface utilized to post assignments in google-document format. I also used Syngery to take attendance during class, as well as keep track of student records.Â
