School History

Origin of School Name

Guoling is a traditional geographical name of an area in the southwest part of Zhongli District, Taoyuan City. When traveling between Shuanglianpo and Dalun, the earliest settlers had to cross a mountain ridge separating the two places, hence the name Guoling (Mandarin guoling means “cross the mountain ridge”). Taoyuan Municipal Guo-Ling Junior High School, a new school established for the Guoling Redevelopment Area, admitted its first cohort of students in August 2009. 

Relocation of Old Tree

The Chunghwa Telecom Research Institute has gifted us 20-odd Melaleuca trees and cotton trees of 20-30 years old. They have been planted on the pavement in front of the school and along the northern wall.
