Dr. Xiangxiong Kong earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas. With extensive experience in both industry and academia, Dr. Kong brings a practical and innovative perspective to his teaching and research. Dr. Kong's research focuses on leveraging cutting-edge sensing technologies in civil engineering and exploring technology-driven methods to enhance engineering education. His work has been funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation, the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). His contributions to these fields aim to advance the sustainability and resilience of civil infrastructure while preparing future engineers to meet the challenges of an evolving profession. Dr. Kong is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Missouri and a licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in Nebraska.
