I am a quantitative methodologist with a PhD in Educational Measurement and Statistics from the University of Iowa and a BA in English Education from Korea University. My experience as a public school teacher working with students from low-income backgrounds sparked my strong interest in educational equity. My research interests include structural equation modeling, Bayesian statistics, network analysis, and generalizability theory. I am deeply interested in conducting equity-focused projects using quantitative methods. I collaborate with colleagues on a range of equity-focused quantitative and mixed methods projects, such as “Empowering Latinx parents of children with disabilities” and “The effects of procedural justice–based teaching practices on statistics anxiety and learning outcomes.” and so on. In addition to serving as an external evaluator for the Federal Project Access grant ($1,247,005), I have secured around $130,000 in internal and external funding as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator for a number of applied research projects. I have presented over 75 research projects at national and local conferences and have published 27 articles in peer-reviewed journals (Journal of Personality Assessment, International Journal of Developmental Disabilities, American Journal on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Applied Measurement in Education, Psychological Methods, Structural Equation Modeling: A Multidisciplinary Journal, AppliedMath, Psychological Assessment, etc). Bringing expertise in education as a former high school teacher, I am committed to making a positive impact on the advancement and progress of high-quality, equity-focused educational research and teaching.
