About Mr. Murillo
Welcome! I'm Mr. Murillo, a mathematics teacher at University High School.
My goal is to create a classroom where students are actively doing mathematics rather than simply watching someone else do it. Students will regularly work together, discuss different strategies, use technology, explain their reasoning, and learn from mistakes.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy sports, music, DJing, pickleball, and spending time with family.
Most importantly, I want students to know that being successful in mathematics isn't about always knowing the answer immediately. It's about being willing to think, ask questions, try something, learn from mistakes, and keep going.

- AP Statistics
AP Statistics is an introductory college-level statistics course focused on collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data.
New for 2026–2027: AP Statistics follows College Board's newly revised course framework and prepares students for the redesigned May 2027 AP Statistics Exam.
- Integrated Mathematics II
Integrated Math II develops students' understanding of algebra, functions, geometry, transformations, proof, and data analysis through problem solving and collaborative learning.
- Integrated Mathematics III
Integrated Math III strengthens students' understanding of algebra, functions, geometry/trigonometry, and statistics while incorporating ongoing CAASPP preparation. Lessons emphasize experience-first learning, collaboration, mathematical reasoning, and targeted re-teaching.
