CFS Emeritus Faculty

Retired 2019
I have spent most of my free time at Lynda's cabin at Shaver Lake. I also manage my "egg business" of two chickens named Soup and Pot Pie. They love to be fed lettuce by hand. But I miss the excitement of the start of a new semester with new students. I wish only the best for the faculty and all of the students of the Department.
Kathie Reid-Bevington
Retired 2018
I retired in Aug 2018 to move to Bend with Bob. I started a home-based, custom cookie business in October 2019 called Just Around the Bend Cookies (on IG and FB), and do local and mail order business. I also continue to do work with the Fresno State NCBI chapter, and am starting a DEI consulting business with Drs. Francine Oputa and Jody Hironaka-Juteau. Here in Bend, I am on the Program Committee of a non-profit called Friends of the Children Central Oregon, which is a local branch of a national organization that was started over 20 years ago in Portland. It is pretty amazing, as they provide professional mentors who start with children in kindergarten and are with them through 12th grade -- "no matter what."

We have retired to a very small town called Pocahontas in Arkansas. We love it here! A lot of lakes, rivers, and creeks to explore. I have done a little teaching but nothing steady, and I'm okay with that! Just enjoying retirement.

Up until COVID, Jeff and I were doing a lot of traveling. Since then, we've been hunkered down at home, spending lots of time in our garden. I've been quilting and cooking, along with spending lots of time with our grandkids.

Retired 2009
Well, so many memories of the years in the Department. It started in 1969 and ended in 2009, though I must tell you I don’t feel that old. I loved teaching and now in retirement enjoy more time to ask “what shall I do today?” Kids, grand-children, many hours with my dear wife and photography actually keep me pretty busy. Congratulations to the ongoing progress of the department!
