Student Preparation
Each high school campus has a College & Career Center dedicated to supporting the Fresno Unified goal of preparing Career Ready Graduates. The College & Career Center is highly integrated with Career Technical Education and academic counseling. Job Developers lead each center and function as a link between the business community, higher education, high school counseling, and the District’s College & Career Readiness department. Job Developers offer all students an array of services and opportunities such as: issuing work permits; providing information on work-based learning experiences, internships, and certifications; offering career interest inventories; conducting ASVAB testing; and supporting students with college and scholarship information and applications, FAFSA/Dream Act application, and SAT/ACT registration.
The Job Developer for Bullard High School is Kris Madden.

Currently, many Fresno Unified CTE courses in different pathways and programs offer paid and unpaid internship opportunities to qualifying students.
In the 2022-2023 school year, General Internship courses are being offered at Bullard, Fresno, McLane, and Roosevelt High Schools that are designed to give students an opportunity to participate in paid and unpaid internships during the school day. Students will earn up to 20 elective credits for successful completion of the course and will learn valuable employability skills with a designated teacher, along with industry-specific experience while working with industry professionals at work sites.
Fresno Unified School District’s counseling staff is ready to assist students in the exploration and development of a plan that meets their college and career aspirations. College and Career Readiness counselors welcome the continuous participation of parents during this planning process throughout their students’ middle and high school years. Parents are vital partners in their student’s middle and high school success.
All 12th grade students will receive authentic postsecondary plan from their counselor
