Amber Hammons is Professor and Department Chair of Child and Family Science at California State University, Fresno. She is a developmental psychologist who studies family health and is particularly interested in factors that contribute to sustainable behavioral change, including whole family participation, family routines, and social support. Her work is grounded in family systems and social cognitive theories, as well as the socio-ecological framework.
Amber received a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. She completed her PhD in Psychology at the University of California, Riverside. Before coming to Fresno State, she spent three years at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, as a Research Associate. She has been at Fresno State since 2012.
