Major: Health Studies | Dallas, TX
I am a non-traditional student returning to FHSU after earning a Bachelors in Graphic Design as an on-campus student in the 80's. When I reached out to FHSU for my transcript, I was thrilled to learn they had the degree plan I was seeking and that I could return to my roots. As I begin the next chapter in my life, I plan to work with others, providing preventative nutrition education. Being involved with OSGA helps me stay connected to FHSU, work closely with faculty and staff there, and forge new friendships in the online community. I love being a Tiger!
Major: Psychology | Sublette, KS
Fort Hays State University offers an opportunity for working adults to achieve their educational goals. I serve as a senator because I want to be a voice for online students.
Major: Social Work |Cimarron, KS
I am from Dodge City, Kansas, and am pursuing a degree in Social Work at Fort Hays State University. I chose FHSU for its strong academic reputation and supportive community. As a Senator, I'm committed to advocating for my peers and helping strengthen the student experience. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, which provides balance and connection beyond my studies.
Major: Psychology | Tampere, Finland
Chair: Student Relations Committee
I am an online international student majoring in psychology. I was looking for a university that offered high-quality online degree programs, and I found FHSU. I am planning to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology directly after getting my bachelor's degree. Being part of OSGA's Student Relations Committee makes me feel truly connected to FHSU as an online student.
Major: History | SE, KS
Chair: Online Inclusion
I finish two bachelor's degrees this December (one in History and the other in Secondary Education). I am currently enrolled in FHSU's accelerated master's program and will officially be a master's student only starting Spring 2026. I chose FHSU for the affordability, but I have found a community of fantastic students and faculty to support my learning here. I fell into a senator position accidentally because a good friend and colleague nominated me upon her departure from OSGA. I am a high school social studies teacher and I absolutely adore my job, my district, and my students.
Major: Advanced Education Programs | Topeka, KS
My name is Ramon Arthur Brice I live in northeast Kansas where I teach. I am in the Educational specialist program at FHSU. I chose FHSU because it was affordable and it was the school that ensured a student was equipped for success. I want an active role in student advocacy and success, that is why I chose to become a senator. My personal interests outside of school are cinema, comic books, skateboarding and playing drums, bass and guitar.
Major: English | Ulysses, KS
I am from Ulysses, Kansas and going for my Master’s in English. I currently have two children, one boy and one girl, who I raise with my husband. I am also a full-time teacher at Rolla, KS teaching grades 7th thru 12th English Language Arts along with Comp I and Comp II as a college class through Steward Community College.
This is my second time going to FHSU. I love the campus itself but taking the online courses has given me a better opportunity to work at my own pace and also continue my teaching career.
I joined OSGA as a senate to represent FHSU at the high school I teach. I wanted to show them that you can take classes online, participate as a student, and enjoy being at a college without ever stepping on campus. I also wanted to show them that FHSU is a 4-year university with competitive tuition prices.
Outside of college and teaching, I love to read and write with the hope of finishing one of my procrastinating and ever-changing novels or spending time with my husband and our two children. There is always something going on with how active the kids are.
Major: Information Assurance Management | Fontana, CA
I am currently living in California. Enrolled in Informatic graduate studies. I needed information to navigate my way in my online studies and needed help, but I was not getting the appropriate help. As I pondered over how to succeed I then found this community, which was very helpful. This sparked a need to become active in the online community, pointing students in the right direction as they navigate the online learning space here at FHSU.
Major: Psychology | EauClaire, WI
Greetings and salutations! I am in my junior year studying for a Psychology degree. Fort Hays has one of the best online college programs and all of the courses that I was interested in pursuing. I wanted to be a senator to connect with and encourage the participation of fellow students. I want everyone to feel included no matter who or where they are. In my free time I enjoy watching movies, reading comics, and buying and selling collectibles.
Major: Music | Riverside, CA
I chose FHSU because my previous college did not make me feel welcome there as a Music Major. I started attending FHSU Online in the Fall of 2024 and working toward my Bachelors of Arts in Music. I dedicate my spare time to teaching and writing music compositions and drills for local and out-of-state marching bands. I am a part-time classified Assistant Band Director for a private school, and a full-time Music Composition Arranger, Composer & Drill/Visual Writer. I hope to become a full-time Band Director.
