Lessons should be centered on the content area standards which are currently being taught.
Meaningful
Lessons should mirror in-class instruction as much as possible.
Engaging
Lessons should require students to respond/participate, so that feedback/formative assessment of student performance may occur.
Busy work
An assignment that is not applicable to standards-based instruction and has no relevance to current instruction occurring in the class.
Sub plans
Developed at the beginning of year to be pulled if an Virtual Learning day is declared.
Passive
A lesson where students are not actively involved in components of the learning process.
