The Lady Broncos could not over come a slow start against the Lady Bulldogs and lost a tough game. They where led by Amazen Guy with 2 points and 6 rebounds.
For the Boys this was lining up to be the biggest game of the season so far with Martinsville coming in to the game undefeated. The battle of the undefeated showed a dominate Bronco team through 2 periods leading going into the half 28-6. The third period the Broncos went cold and the momentum shifted towards the Bulldogs after a thunderous dunk by Martinsville 7th grade Bam Bam. The Broncos stayed calm and regrouped and coasted to victory 35-29. The Broncos where led by their emerging star Isaac Smith Jr with 13 points 7 rebounds and 4 steals and the floor general Larry Warren with 8 points and 6 assist. The Broncos go into the holiday break 5-0.
Both Bronco teams where in action yesterday. The Lady Broncos played their best basketball of the season but fell to the undefeated FC Cavaliers. The Lady Broncos were led by Tykera Womack with 7 points and 4 steals and Deziyah Wade with 4 points and 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The boys improved to 4-0 with a dominate performance while securing the 57-17 win over FC. The Broncos were led by Isaac Smith Jr with 20 points 6 rebounds and 6 steals and Correll Jeffries with 13 points and 5 steals. The Broncos will be traveling to Martinsville Middle school and both games are shaping up to be must sees!
The Danville Middle School Wrestling Team traveled to Brookville High School to participate in The Bee Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Several of the wrestlers are brand new to the sport but that did not stop the from competing at a high level. The following Danville Wrestlers performed very well in their first tournament of the season.

Both teams where on the road playing against the Halifax Middle Comets. The Lady Broncos fought hard but fell to the undefeated Lady Comets. The Lady Broncos where led by Amazen Guy with 2 points, 10 Rebounds and 5 steals. The boys where in full control of the game from the jump ball. The Broncos ran to an early lead and never looked back beating the Comets 45-17. The Broncos where led by Larry Warren Jr with 12 points and 6 assist, and Justice Gunter with 10 points and 10 rebounds giving him his second double-double of the season. Both teams will be back in action at home against Fieldale-Collinsville Middle School.
Both the Girls and the Boys teams had their Home openers yesterday. The Lady Broncos fought hard but fell to a strong Laurel Park team. They where led by Deziyah Wade with 2 points 10 rebounds. The boys continued their winning ways by dominating the Lancers 44-24. The Broncos where led by Isaac Smith Jr with 12 points and 6 rebounds 3 steals, and Justice Gunter with 10 points 12 rebounds and 4 steals. Both team will be back in action Thursday against Halifax on the road.
Both the Girls and the Boys teams had their season openers yesterday. The Lady Broncos fought hard but fell to the Patrick County Cougars. The Lady Broncos where lead by DeZiyah Wade with 2 points 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The Boys team came out strong on defense and cruised to a 51-28 win over the Cougars. The Broncos where lead by Correll Jefferies with 18 points 3 assist and 4 steals, Larry Warren Jr. with 14 points 3 assist and 3 steals, Justice Gunter with 11 points 15 rebounds and 2 steals, and Isaac Smith Jr with 6 points 8 assists and 5 steals.

The Middle School Cross country Team competed in the Virginia Middle Schools State Championship this Sunday. The Team was lead by Jonesha Wilkins for the girls with a time of 18:06 in the 4K which is 2.5 miles putting her in 108 place out of 350 female runners from around the state. The Boys where lead by Elijah Thomas who finished with a time of 20:28 putting him in 208th place out of 350 runners. The team is getting ready to compete in the Jr. Piedmont District Championship Race. Lets go Eagles!
The Danville Middle School team had a hard loss yesterday to the undefeated Halifax Comets. The girls are continuing to get better and demonstrating a never quit attitude.
Danville Middle School Athletics was in full effect yesterday as the Danville middle football team avenged last years loss to the Halifax Comets with a dominant 62-0 victory. Offensively the Team was lead by 2 of their captains Alex Brandon who continued his stellar season performance with another 100 yard rushing game with a rushing touchdown and added a receiving touchdown in the air from Quarterback Octaven Covington who had his first 100 yard passing game his first of the season and 2 passing touchdowns. The Eagles defense was led by Justice Gunter and Geharhi Nicholson. Geharhi led the team in tackles with 8 tackles and 1 sack. Justice had 2 defensive touchdowns, 1 interception, and 2 forced fumbles. Stephen Linder recorded is first interception of the season. The cross country team had another strong showing at the Patrick County District meet. The Eagles where led by Jonesha Wilkins with a time at 24:01 landing her in 4th place out of 75 high school and middle school runners and 1st place out of all middle school runners. The boys were led by Colton Underwood with a time of 23:55 to finish 42 out of 90 runners and 4th place amongst middle school runners.
The Danville Middle School Volleyball Team made history today by winning the first set in their match against Martinsville Bulldogs 25-19. The Eagles have really improved under the direction of Coach Odom and Coach Gunn.
Danville Middle School Athletics was in full effect yesterday with another strong showing at the Halifax Cross Country 5k race by Jonesha Wilkins taking 6th overall out of 65 runners who were all high schoolers with a time 25:39. She finished 1st among all 8th graders. Jonesha continues to impress everyone in attendance with her endurance and speed.
Next up we had the battle of the undefeated with our Eagles going up against the Martinsville Bulldogs. This was a dog fight early on as the Bulldog Quarterback dazzled the crowd with his size and speed, but it was short lived as the Eagles QB Octaven Covington powered his way into the endzone for the Eagles for one of many Eagles touchdowns. He was followed by a big time play by a big time player as #50 Bryon Adkins aka Big Boy sacks the opposing quarterback in the endzone for a Safety shifting the momentum permanently toward the Eagles. On the ensuing kickoff return number 2 Triston Newby took it 55 yards to the endzone. The Eagles added to the score with a 65 yard run by #11 Raymond Reddick and 15 yard run by number 25 Tyrese Murphy and another 65 yard run by #20 Naszir Wilson to seal the win for the Eagles. Running back and team captain Alex Brandon put on another 100 yard game bringing his total to 550 yard for the season well on his way to a 1000 yard season. Let's go Eagles!
The Lady Eagles fell to the Halifax Comets in straight sets 25-11 and 25-10. The Lady Eagles continue to show growth in their inaugural season in the Jr. Piedmont District. The Danville Middle School Eagles had another strong showing against Fieldale-Collinsville and came out on top with a 38-6 victory. The Eagles were led by another strong outing by team captain Alex Brandon with another game with over 100 yards rushing finishing with 150 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns bringing his total to 450 yards and 6 touchdowns for the season. Raymond Reddick continued his touchdown streak with an 81 yard scamper for an Eagles Touchdown. With another dominating performance by the defense which picked up another defensive touchdown when Defensive End Jamarion Chaney stripped the ball from a receiver and Justice Gunter picked it up and returned it 35 yards for an Eagle touchdown. The Young Eagles are back in action next week against the undefeated Martinsville Bulldogs.
The Volleyball Team fell short to the Patrick County Cougars dropping the match in straight sets 25-13, 25-11. The team is getting better each time they step on the floor. Please come out and support the Lady Eagles as they take on the Halifax Comets this Thursday at home, game time is 5:00pm. Go Lady Eagles!!!
The Danville Middle Volleyball Team fell to a very experienced Laurel Park Squad 25-7,25-10,25-12 last Thursday. This young team is getting better every time they step on the court. Lets cheer them on today as they look for their first win against the Patrick County Cougars in the Westwood Gym at 5pm!

Danville Middle School had their first game Tuesday against Martinsville Middle School. The Eagles Drop both games 25-7 and 25-16. My'anna Wilson had a stand out performance with 9 aces.
The Danville Middle School football team had another great showing yesterday with the dismantling of the Laurel Park Lancers 56-8. The Eagles where led by their Captain Alex Brandon #1 with another 100 yard game and 2 touchdowns. Multiple Eagles scored Tyrese Murphy#25 and Raymond Reddick #11 kept the tradition alive with a score apiece. Defensively the Eagles where led by Tristan Newby with 2 interceptions returning one for a touchdown and 1 force fumble.
Boys Cross Country started off the Cross Country season in rare form competing with 7 other schools and 85 runners.
Colton Underwood led the way for the Danville Middle School team.
