Q: How long is the Town Hall Meeting?
A: Town Hall Meeting is a Two-Part event, with the second part of the event being the Closing Conversations. The event will go from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
Q: What should I bring to Town Hall Meeting?
A: Make sure to bring your policy statement (paper or digital) with you so you can refer to it throughout the evening. Bring a pencil to take notes and fill out your policy worksheet, as well as any other necessary items you may need throughout the event (water bottle, charger, etc).
Q: Who can I ask for help during the day of the Town Hall Meeting?
A: Look for any First Year Experience staff in black shirts for help and other teacher assistants present during the evening. There will be FYE staff roaming between the breakout rooms to assist you.
Q: How do I know where my Breakout Session is?
A: Prior to the event, students should check the Canvas page. There will be a roster that indicates each students' name, policy, breakout room, and the Closing Conversation location.
Q: Where do I go after my Breakout Session?
A: The Closing Conversation follows the Breakout Session. Students will head to the BMU Auditorium for this part of the event.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: There is no set dress code for Town Hall Meeting. There will be photos taken throughout the event that captures student engagement, but casual clothing is okay.
Q: What do I do with my policy worksheet when I am done with the Closing Conversations?
A: At the end of the event, look for a checkout station in front of the BMU Auditorium. Make sure to fill out every section of your policy worksheet. Students are to turn in their worksheet into a bin with their teacher assistant's name on it. Be sure to know who your TA is!
