Elements of Experiential Learning
Students are required to make an infographic of a peer-reviewed research article on a psychological study on romantic relationships on a topic of their own interest. The purpose of my infographic assignments is to scaffold students ability to represent data in a visual format (e.g., symbols, charts). In various professions, individuals need to take “data” and put it into a visual format for social media platform. It is my hope that my infographic assignment aids in this effort.
Elements of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
EDI is at the core of my class. Much psychological research on romantic relationships focuses on heterosexual, white, college-aged samples. In my assigned readings, lectures, and infographic assignment, I encourage and use research on individuals with minority backgrounds.
The class also utilizes Open Education Resources (OER) and low cost texts as assigned readings.
