ALPHA - Algorithms and Languages for Programming Hybrid Architectures
Mission Statement
Our goal: To analyze the capabilities of emergent computing architectures, including quantum, neuromorphic, and hybrid systems, on how they can be programmed with a particular focus on how to best prepare students for positions relying on these technologies.
Multidisciplinary and collaborative
Involve experts in a variety of areas including parallel computing, quantum computing, security, algorithms, mathematics, and other STEM fields.
Engage educators and researchers across the CSU system and research focused universities with existing quantum computing research programs, such as UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, CU Boulder and others in California and nationwide.
Promote student research
Encourage undergraduate and graduate student participation in research projects.
Expose students to academia and related, research focused career opportunities.
Enhance graduate preparedness for opportunities in research and development positions related to hybrid computing through participation in industry and university programs.
Teaching focused
Prepare students for positions relying on alternative and hybrid computing architectures.
Support the growth of a diverse domestic workforce ready to lead and innovate in applications of alternative computing architectures.
