Canvas is a web-based learning management system (LMS) that is accessible to all faculty, staff, and students at your institution. It serves as a centralized platform for fully online courses as well as a repository for course materials used in hybrid and face-to-face classes. Both instructors and students leverage Canvas for communication regarding skill development and tracking learning progress.
The Canvas LMS provides a comprehensive set of tools and features to support teaching, learning, and collaboration within your institution's community.

All CFCC students will have access to the Passport to Canvas course in their Canvas dashboard, for ease of access. This is a fully online, asynchronous course.

How do I log into Canvas?
Login to Canvas by accessing your MyCFCC landing page and clicking on Canvas in the navigation menu and enter your institution credentials.
You can also drag and drop your most often linked navigation links to your favorites on the launch pad as shown in the image on the left.

How can I access my course materials on Canvas?
Once logged in, navigate to your Dashboard to see your courses and select the relevant course to access materials. Review this guide on accessing courses.
Can I submit assignments in Canvas via mobile?

How do I check my grades in Canvas?

What should I do if I encounter technical issues on Canvas?
Report any technical issues to Canvas Support. You access this by clicking Help in the Canvas global navigation.
How can I communicate with my instructor within Canvas?
You can message your instructor using the Inbox feature, unless your instructor has disabled that feature and if so they will share their preferred communication method for their course. Review how to Use the Canvas Inbox.
Is there a way to organize my courses on the dashboard?
Yes, you can customize your Dashboard by ‘favoriting’ courses. Learn how at the Canvas Community.
Where can I find tutoring help?
The Learning Lab has partnered with ThinkingStorm to provide CFCC students with 24/7 online tutoring assistance.
The link to ThinkingStorm is available in your course navigation by default. However, if you do not see it, click on Canvas Help and you can acccess that information through the Canvas Help menu.
