QM Rubric
QM Rubrics and Standards were created to help all course developers design high-quality online courses that promote and support student learning. The General Standards and Specific Review Standards serve as a comprehensive guide for the development, evaluation, and improvement of online and blended courses. The rubric and its annotations are based on best practices for student learning and instructional design. It is updated periodically to incorporate new techniques and technologies. Starting QM Official Course Review Process
Make sure your course is ready for review
Decide on the type of review needed
Use the Course Review Management System (CRMS) in MyQM to fill out the Review Application
Certified peer reviewers will review of your course in its entirety against all Specific Review Standards in the Higher Education Rubric.
A set of 8 General Standards and 44 Specific Review Standards will be used to evaluate the design of your online or hybrid courses.
The Rubric has a scoring system used by the Review Team to determine whether a course meets Standards.
Essential Standards (3-point Specific Review Standards) must be met during the review and an overall score of 85% of the points possible are required for a course to attain QM certification.
Certification is valid for 3-5 years depending on the QM Rubric used to review the course. Recertification allows the original QM Certification to be extended for up to 3 more years.
