LERN 55 Successful Online Learning

Master successful online learning in 6 weeks. Gain proficiency using Canvas as a holistic learning environment: access instructions and course materials; participate in community; complete assignments, and receive help from the instructor. Implement behaviors conducive to successful online learning: time management, goal setting, and self-motivation. Apply study strategies to reading e-books, and create study tools for an e-portfolio. This is a great course for students new to, or seeking to master online learning.

LERN 10 Introduction To Tutoring

The tutor training course is designed to provide instructional information for students seeking to be peer tutors on CCSF's campus. The course includes learning outcomes that are necessary for students to provide effective tutoring that is aligned with the profession. The course is CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) Level I certified. Students who are peer tutors have a proven track record of being successful in their academic discipline and often take numerous courses, while tutoring. The class meets for eight weeks online.  There are 4 required synchronous meetings (via zoom) that are designed to engage the learner through experiential learning and real-time feedback from the instructor and peers.

Non-Credit Tutoring Expansion

Through the generosity of the AEP grant, the Learning Assistance Department is expanding our tutoring efforts into non-credit courses to provide equitable access to instructional support services. If interested in learning more about this work or collaborating with us to expand our services please contact Vita at vparamo@ccsf.edu or fill out our Non-Credit Interest Form
