Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:
The orientation is completely online. Make sure you carefully read all the information posted under the “Getting Started” Module. You will not be able to do this until the first day of class.
If you decide to discontinue this course, it is your responsibility to officially drop it to avoid getting no refund (after 10% of course length), a W symbol (after 20%), or a grade (after 60%).
You may not take this class P/NP.
Students who fail to log-in to an online class after the second week will be dropped from the class.
This online course duplicates the content of the traditional course, but not the delivery. An online course relies on self-directed students completing the assignments, readings, quizzes, discussions, etc. on their own time schedule while meeting the posted deadlines. It is very easy to fall behind in an online course.
This is not self-paced course; you must participate. You are expected to visit the course several times a week, ideally, once a day. Once there, you will find announcements, lecture material, assignments, quizzes, and exams. Each week begins on Monday and ends Sunday at 11 p.m. All discussion board topics, quizzes, and homework assignments are due Sunday at 11 p.m. Late assignments will not be accepted.
If you do not participate for two or more weeks, you will be dropped. You participate by completing homework assignments, quizzes, discussion postings, and exams by their requisite due dates. It is the student’s responsibility to keep track of assignment due dates.
Your final grade will be based upon the results of quizzes, homework, discussion postings, and exams. Reading the assigned chapters and the chapter notes are a critical element of the course. The readings will provide the information you need to complete the homework, exams, quizzes, and discussion postings. You should begin each week by reading the assigned chapters, the chapter notes, and any other handouts provided. Assignments for the class are as follows:
The instructor will post announcements on the “Instructor Announcements” page in Canvas throughout the semester. Canvas notifies students according to their preferred Notification Preferences (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. as soon as the instructor creates an announcement.
