Course Information

Welcome to History 17B, United States History Since 1877. This course covers an is 16 weeks long. Plan to spend 6-10 hours per week in the online classroom, completing learning activities, studying, and doing homework.

The history of the United States from Colonial Times to the present. A survey of the more important political, economic, social, artistic, and cultural aspects of American life as well as of the role of the United States in world affairs.

  • HIST 17A not prerequisite to 17B. HIST 17B covers from the end of the Civil War to the present.

ADDS/DROPS: We have a wait-list, so I will send out an email the first day to the names at the top of the list and work the way down the order. Students that do not log in the first 72 hours will be dropped. Furthermore, students that are inactive (fail to submit assignments) for two consecutive weeks without contacting the instructor will be dropped from the course.
