Class Description: Development of intermediate-level English language conversation skills and strategies for appropriate interactions in a variety of social situations in the U.S. including workplace settings. Analysis of cultural differences that may affect verbal and non-verbal communication in social interactions in everyday life and work settings.
Student Learning Outcomes: By the end of this class you will be able to:
Apply intermediate-level English language skills to oral communication in social situations, including everyday life and workplace settings.
Describe cultural differences in U.S. and student home cultures using intermediate-level English language skills.
This class is FULLY ONLINE: What does that mean? That means that all of our work will be online, with no face-to-face on-campus meetings.
Textbook: There is NO textbook for this class. Everything will be based on different employment locations and will be teacher-made or teacher-found, including activities, videos, and other fun stuff!
Attendance = participation in an online class: Doing the activities & assignments on Canvas gives you the grade.
Class start/finish: September 2, 2025 - December 19, 2025
Drop policy: If you are not active on Canvas for two weeks or more, you may be dropped from the class. Please contact your teacher for help.
