Registering for Classes

Below are the links you need to to begin your educational journey at City College of San Francisco!

Adding a Class

It's best to add a course during the registration period.

However, if the course is full, you can put yourself on a wait list. Students on the registered wait list have priority in being added.

Wait List Process

If you are trying to register for a class and the class is closed and there is an open wait list, you may place yourself on it.

If a student in the class drops and a seat becomes available, the first student on the wait list will be sent a notification to their CCSF email account. You have 24 hours to register for the class once you have received the notification email.

It is your responsibility to register for the class once notified of the opening.

If you do not register in that time frame, you will be removed from the wait list and the next student on the list will be offered the opportunity to register for the class.

For more information on the waiting list process, visit Wait list Information.

Adding after first day of class begins

Once the course starts, the wait list disappears.

If you are still interested in adding the course after this point, you will need to submit a Class Add Request under your Student Portal.

If the instructor has space in the class, they will approve you to add the course and you will be notified by email at your CCSF student email address. Once approved students will have 3 days or until the last day to add the course (whichever comes first) to add the course in their myRAM Portal.

If you don’t have a computer,  you normally share a computer, your computer is out of date, or it does not have a working mic or video camera, I highly suggest that you get a Chromebook loan.  Working just from your smartphone is not the optimal way to participate in this course

Resources for Online Students are available for online students during this time, including free or low-cost internet access, Basic Needs Resources, financial assistance, and technical help, and tutorials.
