About the class:

ESLN 3200 is a beginning English as a Second Language class. 

Students will learn to speak, write, and read basic English. The class will be online using Canvas. 

Days and Times:

You can study in Canvas at any time.

We talk on Zoom (CityZoom) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10:20 am to 11:45 am.

Important Dates 📅

• August 20, 2024  is the first day of class.

• September 2, 2024  - school is closed for Labor Day

• October 15, 2024 - school is closed for a teachers' meeting

• November 11, 2024 - school is closed for Veterans' Day

• November 28 - December 1, 2024 - Thanksgiving Vacation - school is closed 

• December 20, 2024  is the last day of class.

Student Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Identify essential information in simple conversations in English about familiar topics.

• Use a range of low-beginning English language structures and vocabulary in short conversations about familiar topics.

• Identify essential information in simplified written texts in English on familiar topics.

• Write simple sentences using a range of low-beginning English language structures and vocabulary.
