English is so much more than grammar. I hope students will use my class to examine why they think the way they do, develop more compassion for others, and empower their own voices. I believe the more people who master these skills, the more just our society will become.
Attending community college transformed my life and motivated me to help others imagine new possibilities for themselves and the world we live in. I transferred to UC Berkeley for my Bachelor's in English, and then earned my Master's at Sonoma State University. I completed the Teaching Composition certificate at San Francisco State University and continue taking advantage of professional development opportunities. I have been teaching English at City College of San Francisco since 2006. I enjoy learning from my students and am inspired daily by their stories, their progress, and their insights.
