Course Information
This course is designed to introduce you to reference, communication, teamwork, resources, and technology competency for library support staff working in special libraries and information centers. Surveys need and use of specialized information for personal, corporate, or academic use from print and online resources in a variety of special libraries. Types of special libraries covered in this course will vary by semester. This course will be co-taught by instructors Marie Varelas, Dora Dye, and Michele McKenzie.

Learning Goals
Discover and evaluate information resources and technologies specific to user needs in special libraries
Distinguish between various types of special libraries, their functions, collections, and unique clientele.
Apply knowledge of subject headings or specific terminology for effective catalog and database searching of special library topics.
Formulate reference responses specific to user needs in special libraries
