Supercharge your learning by meeting with a tutor regularly throughout the semester. The Learning Assistance Department offers online and in-person tutoring in a range of disciplines. To learn more about City College's Online Tutoring Platform in Canvas and check out tutors' schedules, students can self-enroll in Canvas' Learning Assistance Online. Students can access free online tutoring by clicking the "Online Tutoring" link on the left side of our Canvas course. On our first weekly assignment, you can earn 5 extra credit points when you complete the online tutoring scavenger hunt!

Instructors provide a sample question or problem that all students can bring to the session. This helps the student feel prepared and will model the benefit of bringing a specific question to their session!

Attend a live 1:1 session, either by drop-in or appointment. Bring your sample question with you to the session.
After attending a drop-in session with your tutor (this could be in any subject or specific to the course) answer the following questions (modify to fit course needs)
Did your tutor help you with the problem?
What subject did you receive tutoring in?
How did you communicate with your tutor? (chat box, audio, video)
What went well in the session?
What could be improved for next time?
Which of the "writing tools" from the whiteboard did you use?
What did you learn from the tutoring session? You can upload how you worked through the problem with your online tutor.
How likely are you to use tutoring again?
Purpose: To encourage students to break down large assignments into smaller assignments and learn about NetTutor's free online paper review service.
College Success Example:
Students complete a 4-6 paper research paper on any college success topic of their choice. Instructor creates a timeframe for students to work on the paper, scaffolds and provides deadlines.

You will submit 2 full pages of content from your College Success Paper to NetTutor's Paper Writing Center for feedback.
You will submit the NetTutor paper, with feedback, to this assignment for extra credit.
