Important Information For Online Students: My online courses do not have any in-person meetings or orientations. My online courses are 100% online. If you are local and would like to meet during office hours, that is great. If you are not local and would like to have a meeting, we can arrange a time for a Zoom meeting.
Adds/Drops/Waitlist: I accept all students on my waitlists. For online courses, if you do not log in that first week, I will drop you unless you have e-mailed me that you are having technical difficulties. For face to face students, you will be dropped if you are a "No Show."
Online Courses: LGBT 5, 15, and 18 all open on January 31st. LGBT 20 which is on an 8 Week Schedule will open on April 4th. All 4 online courses close at 11:59 p.m. PDT on Wednesday May 25th. All Final Work in all online courses is due by 11:59 p.m. PDT on May 25, 2022.

Introduction to LGBT Studies - Online course opens January 27th. I accept everyone on the waitlist. I drop No Shows after one week. This course is the introductory course to LGBT Studies so we focus on the broad issues affecting LGBT people and communities around the world. Midterm Due: April 4
Pre-Stonewall Writers and Cultures - Online course opens January 27th. I accept everyone on the waitlist. I drop No Shows after one week. This course counts as Humanities at UC, CSU, Mills, Stanford, and all other transfer institutions. Since this is a Humanities course for transfer, there is quite a bit of reading. The course is global in focus and explores LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit writers, artists, and cultures from the Ancient World until 1969 - the year of the Stonewall Rebellion, which ushered in our modern day LGBTQ+ Rights Movement. Midterm Due: April 4
Transgender Lives, Culture, and Art - Online course opens January 27th. I accept everyone on the waitlist. I drop No Shows after one week. This course focuses specifically on trans people and gender diversity from the Ancient World until today. I am the author of the textbook for this course - and I always have a few copies of the book to loan to students. Midterm Due: April 4
Modern To Contemporary Art and Culture in the U.S. - Online course opens March 22nd and is on an 8 week course cycle. I accept everyone on the waitlist. I drop No Shows after one week. This course focuses on LGBTQ+ U.S. artists, writers, and cultural centers (some of them outside of the U.S. because many of these artists were also ex-patriots. The course begins with the late 19th Century but mainly focuses on the 20th and 21st Century. For example, one module has a focus on the Harlem Renaissance and the LGBTQ+ musicians, artists, and writers there. Midterm Due: May 1
