MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I believe all learners should have access to Communicative English as a means of creatively expressing themselves in a variety of situations, making deep connections across global cultures and having limitless access to academic and economic opportunity.

MY COMMITMENT TO YOU

This is not an easy time to be a student. The stress of COVID-19, the racial injustices, and political unrest in our country impacts all of our lives. This makes it difficult to learn, manage our time, and juggle our many responsibilities.

Please know that I am committed to creating and supporting you in a safe and respectful learning environment.

I am constantly growing and learning as an educator, and I welcome your feedback. We are better together.

OUR INCLUSIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Our students come from different backgrounds and culture.

CCSF is an atmosphere for learning that respects diversity.

While working together to build this community I ask that we all:

  • Share our unique experiences, values and beliefs.

  • Have patience and a sense of humor with technology. Expect problems. (It's technology!)

  • Value classmates' opinions and communicate with respect.

  • Be open to the views of others.

  • Honor the uniqueness of your classmates.

  • In our class, students of all cultures, races, ethnicities, religions, language backgrounds, and sexual orientations are welcome.

  • Together we create a supportive, fun, and encouraging environment.

If, at any time, you feel that you have been disrespected by a member of our community, bring your concern directly to me right away. Explain clearly what has occurred with evidence. Your concerns will be addressed individuallly

4 TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Be successful in this class!

  1. Log into our Livestream sessions 2x a week. Practice is key.

  2. Share your ideas and listen to your classmates have to say.

  3. Just try. You don't need to be perfect. Your English will improve with regular effort.

  4. We are here to support, encourage, and inspire one another. Learning is more fun in a group.
