Welcome, students, to Spring 2024
My name is Elisa Shore and I'm so excited to be your instructor! (Pronouns: she/her)
I'll be teaching three classes this spring:

About Me:
I'm from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but I've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 30 years! I love to sing, cook, exercise, spend time with my family, pets, and friends, and read, watch movies, and meet people from other cultures and backgrounds.
I believe that by helping my ESL students develop their English language, digital literacy, and computer skills, I can empower them to reach their goals, become leaders and mentors to others in their communities, and fulfill their dreams for creating the life they want and deserve in the U.S. or abroad.
I'm constantly humbled by my students' amazing ability to adapt to new situations and overcome any obstacles they may have using English or adjusting to a strange, new culture. I hope to become part of your journey in achieving any goals you set for yourself!
I believe in you!

How does a fully online class work?
One of my courses, ESL for Computers-Intermediate (ESLB 3821) will be taught fully online. This means the course does not meet in person, and takes place on Canvas, CCSF's content learning system. For this course, I will offer a Zoom orientation in the beginning of the semester to help you understand the course, answer questions about important dates, and show you how to learn more about using Canvas. I will also offer an end of semester Zoom meeting where you can share your final project with the class if you’d like.
You will also be able to interact with your instructor and classmates daily on Canvas in discussions, group projects, shared video and audio comments, and shared assignments. I look forward to creating a supportive, safe, and fun learning community with you this semester!
Learning online is fun!
