Welcome to Class!
I'm your teacher, Cora Chen. I'm very excited to work with you this semester. I love answering your questions and explaining English. I hope I can help you improve your speaking and listening skills so you can communicate better and express yourself in English.
Course Description:
High beginning speaking and listening focus course. Comprehension of important points and details in spoken English. Basic conversations on a variety of topics.& Listening
Speaking/Conversation – You will be able to improve your fluency in conversations in different situations.
Listening - You will be able to understand stories and dialogues about common topics in English.

Canvas on a phone or tablet
From the App Store or Google Play, Download the Canvas Student App
Open the app and login with your Ram ID and password
On an iPhone or iPad, you will need to turn on a setting so you can see images in Canvas.
Update Canvas Student App to 6.10.1 (or later)

Online Course Information
This non-credit class meets entirely online (asynchronously) and may have some optional synchronous meetings in Zoom. I will offer a Zoom orientation at the beginning of the semester to help you understand the course, answer questions about important dates, and show you how to learn more about using Canvas. You will read, write, listen and speak with your classmates through Canvas, our online Course Management System. Here is a Student Guide to Remote Learning. You will need a computer, a tablet or a smart phone with access to the internet in order to succeed in this class.
Communication
I will respond to all course email or text messages within 48 hours Monday-Friday, not including school holidays.
You can add your personal email and mobile number so you will get my messages sent through Canvas. Here are the instructions: How do I set Canvas notification preferences?
Expectations
Complete practice and assignments on time.
Participate in Discussions.
Complete Assignments.
Use respectful, kind language.
Try your best to write in your own words. Don't copy others' words. Don't use Google Translate.

Where is My Canvas Course?
To see lessons and communicate with your classmates, you will need to use our course management system, Canvas. You will NOT see the class until the first day the class is scheduled. But, you can get ready by making sure you are able to login to Canvas successfully.

First, get your CCSF RamID so you can login to Canvas:

Username (for students): CCSF ID numbers, such as W12345678, or @12345678, or WA12345678
Your Canvas password is your RAM ID password.
